When your shooting a landscape or things that aren't very close to your camera the macro setting actually brings the quality of the photo down. the images can appear slightly more pixel look giving the illusion of sharpness, but really the photo has lost information.
That's awesome you have a camera. You'll have so much fun with it, especially once you have all the settings and really get a feel for you camera. In the last photo your horizon line is perfect, and the composition of the photo is interesting :D
