Exclamation Is this a safe idea?!?!

A 4L wine bottle well rinsed for a Betta tank.... an inch wide opening, no reek of wine at all, scraped clean, it looks like a cartoon rum jug but clear... is it safe?

Because... it's one inch wide.


That is:

1) not going to allow enough water to come out during water changes (safely)
2) will disable the fish to have a large surface area to breathe
3) will not allow you to pretty much ever get the fish out safely again


I really really hope you do not do this.

welll i planned on changing alll water at once as i do now with 2 of y other fish and rinsing all the rocks at once as i also do now and holding the net uner the opening when getting him/her out and not filling it all the way up.... make sence??any better?

If you must do this, (which I think you could find a much more suitable container for a fish) then at least cut off the top to make it wider so you can at least fit the net in.

If you want a unique fish tank, check craft and thrift stores. There are tons of cool, large, and safe containers for fish there. :)

well i think itd b kool..... but if every 1 says its a dum idea or dangerous idk....tested it and checked about the rock thing if i poured it, it wuld work cuz the rocks stay in while i pour all the waster out they barely shift....ANY BETTER YET!?!?! im sooo sad now!
