The white tips look like new growth...but they do still look a bit tattered like he is dragging them on something rough.....

I would increase your regular water change schedule to twice weekly in a 2gal unfiltered tank-1-50% and 1-100%......

Remember due to the Prime you are using-it changes the ammonia to ammonium the safer forum-and the test product can't tell the difference....

So it's nothing to worry about? Right now I have plastic plants in there which he loves swimming around but I'm wondering if those are catching his fans when I'm not looking and I should invest in some silk plants?

Silk plants are a good idea...also-the substrate can be a cause if it is really sharp or larger items that he can get his fins pinched in....

I don't think there is anything he could really pinch his fins in, and nothing sharp besides maybe the plants. I do have Zoo Med's hammock in there but he loves it and just lays on the top and the wire would be on the bottom so I don't think that would hurt him either.

Maybe I'll up his water changes and invest in some silk plants and see if that makes any difference.
