new fish... she came like this...

My new girl, Forget Me Not, is so cute. I am concerned about the red markings on her face... do y'all think this is part of her coloring or bloody spots? Thanks bunches!

That could be her coloring since I have a pale girl with red cheeks too.

What were the conditions she was in before you got her? they might be ammonia burns which is fixed with clean water and time.

I think its just part of the coloring. I have a female with those same colors and she also has the red on her face.

Thanks for your replies! I feel a bit better now. I do have one more concern... Forget Me Not keeps her tail "closed" or clamped and hides a LOT at the bottom. What do you think the problem is? The water condition is great, the temp is @78 degrees, there is a very slow filter. any ideas?

PS when I got her she was is her nasty little pet store cup.

She's probably still adjusting to new surroundings. she should perk up in a few days.

Thanks for all of your replies :) Forget Me Not has perked up a bit today... she was hanging with the "big dogs" for breakfast this morning... I need to do a partial water change today... I hope that doesn't put her back into "hiding". As far as her red spots, I will just keep an eye on them for now. I think it is part of her coloring. Thanks again!
