Stupid fish >_____>

So one of my new males decided that he wanted to try to swim through the tiny holes on the divider. I found him upside down bleeding from his stomach gasping for air... after a half hour of breaking the thick plastic with demonic looking wire cutters I got him out he now has a gouged stomach (meaning his anal fin and the skin and scales attached to it is loose and flapping) and is missing scales all over his body... I have him in clean water and aq salt and am now missing a divider the plastic is replaceable my fish not so much. Anything I can help him with?

Put him in a tank without dividers if you can as you now know that he is a little curious kid. Arent we all? :D

I'd say the only thing you could do was make sure the water is low enough that he really doesn't have to swim for air and keep him tank dark, but it looks as though you're already way ahead of me.

I think the aq salt is good for now. I don't know how a medication would affect him since it would be in direct contact with an open wound. I would suggest tetracycline perhaps for a medication if you want to, but I know it's often overused and isn't effective at treating what it's supposed to treat now.

I caught him really quickly, thank goodness, and I was so worried that this is something they wouldnt recover from... you should have seen what I did to my poor plastic divider I shattered that thing into bits to get him out.
