Can Someone Identify This . . . Thing For Me?

I found this in the bag of plants I just brought home from my favorite LFS. It's alive and it's long and it's creeping me out. What IS it? I put the container of plants in the garage for now . . . o.O

Oh my. How frightening. Definitely wouldn't put it near your fish!

I picked it out of the plants with a pair of my dad's pliers but there are still bits and pieces of it in with the plants. Ugh. I'm kinda afraid to mess with the plants without gloves now. O.O Definitely QTing.

All I get from a google search (however unreliable) is either blood worm, red water worm, or tubifex worm.

If it's a bloodworm, it's the longest bloodworm I've ever seen in my life. It was kind of flattish though. It was . . . ew, hard to think about even now. Might be red water worm. It was almost like a red tapeworm or something. O.O

Eeew.... That is gross. I'd probably bring the plants back fora refund or exchange and let them know what you found on them. Don't want your bettas getting sick.

I found another one. I'm taking everything in tomorrow.
One more pic in case there's someone out there who can identify these . . . creatures.

Plus, if I have to have nightmares, so does everyone else. Forgive the guck on the one worm, it wouldn't let go of it.
