5 gallon tank, 1 male betta, and ?

I have a 5 gallon fish tank with one male betta. i was thinking of adding some other small fish. any suggestions and is this a good idea?

Preferably I would say no any other fish in the tank, usually a 10 gallon is the minimum when it comes to a Betta fish with any other fish.

You could add a snail or two, maybe a few shrimps, or even African Dwarf Frogs. Should consider getting live plants if you're into shrimps, since shrimps sometimes can become a snack for your Betta. Live plants give them more survivability as they can run off and hide. I'm not sure about ADFs though, apparently they're quite territorial like Bettas. . And they're social too, so you'll need two or more.

So yeah, either snails, shrimps or ADFs (maybe), but fishies, not really. .

Anything under 10g cannot have fish friends, you could get some shrimps though but they may end up snacks. What about a moss ball?

Alright! Thanks for the opinions, seems like finny will be an only child x) I think ill get a moss ball, though - they do look really cool!

In a five gal a snail or shrimp are the only options.
Well you could divide a 5 gal for 2 males, but there are risks with that.
