Question Companions for these dimensions?

So - I've been debating long and hard on if at some point I should/could add companions to this tank. Mostly because it's split in two and thus is a little taller then long.

Both sides are... [L x W x H ]
15 1/8 x 12 1/2 x 18 3/4
... so roughly 189 in squared of surface space. A ten gallon has 212 so thats where I pretty much paused in my search lol.

If there isn't a fish that can fit comfortably in these dimensions with a betta I'm not going to be heart broken. I'm not even sure if I'd go through with it anyways - but I'm curious. Mum keeps complaining about the 'lack of movement' in the tank XD

You could do 4 corys, or 5-6 small tetras (rummy nose, neon...), or smaller schooling fish (5-6 PEACEFUL), or couple of apple snails. Don't combine all of them, lol, it's either or. :P

i would not recomend the tetras because they are delicate and need 10g+ to swim around... however there are white Cloud minnows that can be put the in there they only need 5g+ to swim but need to be schooled 5+ the downside to this is that they live in water ranging from 60-75 degree and the betta is 72-82 you will need to keep an eye out for the water not to get to cold or hot.... or you can dived the tank into 3 and get 3 beta this is nice here is avid you can show ur mom and see what she thinks and here is a guide to making you own dividers that is way cheeper than buying them

Those dimensions equal a 15 gal. tank. Forbidden has plenty of room for tetras, assuming the dimensions are correct.

Yeah it's roughly 15 gallons [a bit less with gravel ect] I was more concerned about it's height vs length so I figured best to ask before acting lol.

:) Glad I could help. Either way, that give you roughly 2 gal. per fish, so you would be fine as long as you have plenty of plants and hidey holes. ^^

Yeah I'm going to wait until the plants grow out a little but they are almost as tall as the tank in the back. I was thinking a few bumblebee platys I fell in love lol
