simple little question I had.

I have been to 3 different walmarts in the past week. I see a lot of people saying they get their bettas from petco, petsmart, and walmart. I must be looking in the wrong place or something but ive went to the pet section and there are no bettas for sale...Are they in the cooking section or what?

my walmart didn't have bettas for a long time, then I started noticing them in the fish section by the sink area or they used to have them on endcaps by the fish tanks. recently they've had bettas down the isle with fish supplies. Maybe your walmarts just haven't stared getting bettas yet

Some Walmarts don't sell fish/bettas. With the general consensus of the care they take of their fish sections, it's probably for the best.

there selection of plastic plants compared to petsmart i thought was 100x better though, but ya a place that is a grocery store and a pet store would prolly lack in quality of care.

not all walmarts carry live fish .. there's 20 listed (within 20 miles radius of my house .. i plugged my zipcode into the store finder) walmarts around me and only 1 of them that i've been to has live fish .. and it happened to be a super center kind that's open 24 hrs .. i'd defiantly start calling them instead of driving around to each one

They aren't really any cheaper than the bettas at Petsmart and Petco anyway. Male VT and CT and some jumbo girls are usually the selection. Mostly blues and reds and teals. And usualy in pretty bad shape.

Here at school, the walmart doesn't sell live fish. However, my home one does, but they don't carry bettas. It just depends on the store.

The wal-mart closest to my school has a fish section and a 'decent' selection of bettas, for a wal-mart anyway. Now, the one on the other side of town doesn't have said fish section, but had a small amount of bettas for sale, just sittin' on the shelf.
...That really bothers me. I mean, how often do they get checked? Poor things :(
