Question New Tank

My Betta boy is outgrowing his small tank...and I want to purchase a bigger one for him soon. I've seen a post or two on here about bettas being stressed after a move to a bigger environmant. Thoughts or ideas from anyone who has moved their fish babies to bigger homes?

You could do it in steps. Like if you have a 1 gallon now, move up to a 2 or 3 gallon.

Thanks....I have him in a one-gallon right now. Since he is growing, I want to buy him a bigger environment soon. And yeah, since his tail fins are getting longer the colors are becoming * more* amazing* I'm a new Betta-enthusiest.

After you decide what tank you would like to get for your little guy (lets just say for example it is a 5 gallon) only fill it with 1.5 gallons and add a gallon every day after if you are worried about him adjusting. Though as long as you have plenty of plants and hiding spots, he will probably do just fine if you introduce him cold turkey.

I have only had one guy with issues and his problem seemed to be that he is not fond of big open spaces. I added a bunch of plants and decorations and he is a happy little man now. It seems that the more places to hide they have, the more confident/secure they are.
