Bonnie & Clyde (weird colour help!)

So ive been admirin this little lass for a couple of weeks. she wouldnt eat today at the store and i still bought her (dont tell the bf SHHHHH) i figured she was in a bay surrounded by flaring males she just needs a little TLC.
She is a 2 ray ct red with purple metallic between her scales
She actually looks like shes begining to pinecone :(
I added some Epson salts to her water

Clyde welll he caught my eye with this unusual colour splash. All the crowns (all they have this shipment) are metallic somewhere in them between scales on tails or in his case back, theres no lump or anything just looks like the artist dropped the paintbrush...he may marble yet hes also a 2 ray ct, if both are alive and doing ok they could be the first breeders when i get back....

I give you Bonnie and Clyde:

They're so pretty, I hope Bonnie feels better!!! The wierd splotch on Clyde is most likely a tumor =( poor guy, he is really pretty!! As long as it doesn't start growing like crazy, he should live a pretty normal life =)

like Indy said it could be like a growth or something under the scales thats causing them to decay or discolor a bit. but if it is just a random green splotch then that makes for one intersting fish. they ar e both cute itherway and its very sweet of you to take the lil sick girl home with you. most will pass on the sick looking ones and just go right for the " purdy" ones not knowing that if they could just have some patients and TLC that ,that not so purdy fish could turn out to be a stunner :) i cant waait to see what she looks like once shes feeling better and her color perks up from all of your love :) best of luck with your two new fishies

I don't think it's a typical "tumor", but I have seen many fish on this forum with the same kind of formation on their scales and they were diagnosed as tumors or fish melanomas i guess of some sort. But, like i said, he should live a completely normal life, and he is very beautiful =)

He could be a marble. The marble gene, is a jumping gene and it's not uncommon for even a solid colored fish to change completely in time. I read a long paper on the marble gene it's very interesting if you have the interest. The paper I read was by Yono Wijaya on the blog entitled Betta Bred. It was a very good read if anyone is interested, not to mention the site itself has a plethora of Betta breeding information.
