terrible short term decision, wonderful long term one

I was at Walmart with my Mom and was intending on stocking up on my weekly groceries when I stumbled into the pet section. I had no clue this Walmart even sold fish! Well, I was looking at plastic plants when a little girl held up a cup with about an inch of water and half dead fish. They only had 5 bettas on the shelf and I immediatly picked up the smallest and a new tank. Then had to walk around returning my groceries that I could no longer afford.

But he's precious! A tiny little crown tail male, about the size of half my pinky, mostly blue but flashes of purple and red on his fins. I tried getting a picture but he's too terrified of me right now to let me see him.

Gonna name him once I see his personality shine though a little bit :) Right now I'm leaning more towards either Ceaser or Gale.
I'll be hungry for the rest of the week but at least I have a new friends :)

Oh, and either he has really big eyes for such a little dude or he has pop eye. I honestly can't tell. If I can get a picture I'll upload it.

I don't think he has pop-eye. I have had a few bettas with larger than average eyes, and I think that's all it is. He'll grow into them I bet :)

No, he wont :( He was dead when I woke up this morning :'( I did everything right when I introduced him to the new tank but I guess he was sicker than I realized. Screw you, Walmart.

Friday I'll go to petsmart and find a stressed out fishy friend to try and save, no sense wasting a tank.
