is this safe?

i have a 10g all glass tank .. that i want to put on a dresser .. that has a glass top on top of the dresser ..

and i was thinking i could put the glass tank on the glass top .. is this safe?

like will the weight of the glass tank crack the surface of the glass on the dresser?

nope, it should not, because if its flat then it will be evenly distributed.

If the glass is flat down on the dresser without any part being raised, you should be okay. I've done it before, although with something smaller.

it's a completely flat dresser and the glass is on top is flat too .. but a 10g can easily weigh 100+ lbs .. and the glass on the dresser is only like 3/8 of an inch thick

It's not just a piece of glass AS the top right? It's like a wicker/wood dresser with a glass piece? You should be fine if so. :)

hmm i think the dresser is made of pine ? .. not the strongest of woods .. but i can sit on it and it feels sturdy when i'm sitting on it like it doesn't wiggle or anything

It should be fine. :) A full 10 gal weighs...mm 80-90 lbs? It should be able to hold that. But just incase, make sure it can before adding your fish. :)

Im gonna disagree on that one, the tank weighs about 10lbs by itself, added in about 80-90-100lbs of water (10lbs=1lb, roughly), added in substrate (usually at least 5lbs in a 10, but probably upwards of 10-15lbs) and then just...other stuff, like the hood and HOB filter... I dunno, just be careful!

i've done more glass research .. is there any way for me to know if the glass is tempered then it's stronger?

thank you p3 <3 i still haven't decided on what kind of substrate yet .. for gravel .. it suggests 1lb per gal tank .. is that the same for sand and other substrates ? or will i need more of it for plants to survive?

i'm still waiting on a few more pieces to be delivered before i can start setting up the tank
