I needed a plant tank on the fly and didnt feel like paying a whole lot for a new tank, so I picked up a solid (and heavy!) glass cookie jar (with lid) at walmart for only $10. I acquired a rescued platy literally within a few minutes of setting the tank up (RAGE), and he looooveess to knock my plants up and out, so forgive the fuglyness.
Anyway, Its a cute tank and a cute idea, for not a whole lot of money. The tank's lid closes it all the way, so it cant stay on (for lack of air), but if propped open, it's fine.
I do realize how much gravel is in this tank (its a plant tank Dx !), but dont recommend that much in a normal tank.
And yes, little Applesauce has a filter, derp :p (Please note, I do not, at all- recommend you keep platys 1) alone 2) in tanks under 5-10gs.
Please excuse the DISGUSTING pink gravel... I hate colored gravel, but needed some cheap stuff. Black gravel is eco-complete.
Before knocking my vals up....
Lots of space for a betta :3
With the lid-- which is propped by the tubing for the filter:
Woot, anyway, yeah- so cheap $10 2g cookie jar :)
