Brown algae bloom - HELP

I have a 10 gal divided tank with two bettas and two other compatible fish. I have had the tank for almost 2 years and suddenly am having a brown algae bloom. We recently moved and while the tank doesn't get direct sunlight it gets more indirect light than it used to. I don't turn the light on very often and I do have a filter system.

I do not currently have any live plants in the tank.

Any suggestions. It's seems very odd to just start for no reason.

Thank you!!

Sounds like diatom due to either an old light bulb or too little light....get a new bulb and keep it on for at least 8h/day.....wipe off the diatom and vacuum at least weekly with the 50% water change that is needed to maintain the tank.

Thank you for the advice. We'll turn the light on more often.
