I have a 20gallon long tank (divided)I am going to set up soon...I am thinking sponge filters may be the way to go with this tank...but I will need to set up 4 sponge filters. Is there a way to hook up more than 1 sponge filter per airpump, or do I really need to have 4 going at once?
Depends on how much flow your able to get through the dividers. The old store bought ones I had in a 10gal divided 3 way didn't allow any at all. I changed to mesh with more flow and added another HOB filter to the other side and was fine.
I've never dealt with sponge filters so I don't know how well they perform. If anything, maybe try 1 on each side and see if that will work for ya.
Ah ok, I found my answer over on the tropicalfishkeeping side of the forum...Someone else asked a similar question over there. What I need is a gang valve and and air pump rated for 20-30 gallons...Just incase anyone else was curious.
Which is nice...If I do this right I can run 4 filters off the one airpump now.
