least agresive breed

is there a type of male betta that is less agressive than others? i heard kings and veiltails are the least agressive. it also would have to be cheap because im a little low on cash

well IMO i think that the aggressiveness differences are very little between breeds, but it also depends on the fish itself. it's like people: some are polite, some are gentle, some have anger issues they really need to solve XD.

i think every betta is dif...they are all great...and i think all the males are aggressive to some degree.. you should never put 2 males together . i had a CT male he was calmer but wold flare at everything...he died ..now i have a VT boy hes super friendly with me lets me hand feeding him and will swim in to my palm.. ne doesn't flare unless i use a mirror... few days ego i got a ghost shrip but my boy killed him with in 2 days ...So i think they are all different but most males will be aggressive ..if you looking for whats compatible with bettas look in the compatibility forum, and bettas are not expensive at all unless you get them of the Internet and are specially bred.. at the pet stores they go from 2$-5$..well thats here in NJ.

and remember the fish maybe cheap but you do need spend some money on good quality food,fiilter,heater,plans..tank..so keep that in mind!

Every betta is definitely different. I tried my DbT Stitch in my community tank, and he was a huge bully. I had to pull him out after just a day. After that I tried Magico, my VT, and he did okay, but wasn't happy. So in his own tank he went, and I had my DT Opale in there until I could get him his own tank, and he loved it :)

The betta "breed" is all the same- Splendens (the ones we commonly know in petstores and the like). There is no betta that is less aggressive than another- they are fighters by nature and instinct.
If you're planning on adding a male to a sorority, I HIGHLY advise against it. Males will most likely be picked on and/or be killed. OR you'll end up with an unwanted spawn, and/or dead females.

When people say "breeds" they mean tail types.

Aggression depends on both personality, health and training.
If bettas can see other constantly they will get used to the sight and lose aggression towards each other.
A sick or unhappy betta will not flare, nor will a naturally submissive betta.
This rule is the same for any breed of betta.
