Poor vision?

So Natsume has been here for a couple weeks now and I'm starting to wonder if he has bad eyesight or something. He's from Ploybettas, and is a hardy little fancy hmpk with a rather calm disposition for plakats. He's one of my largest and is perfectly healthy, and a good eater... when the lights are on.

If the room is really bright or when I have the hood light on he noms up his pellets right off like everyone else. If it's dim or even semi-shady in his tank, he can't seem to ...aim his bites properly? He ends up chasing his food all the way to the bottom and then giving up, bouncing it off his nose every time he goes for it. All my other guys usually do ok as long as there is some light, but he seems to need brighter light than others.

Sooo... does this mean Natsume has poor eyesight? And if he does, should I be expecting it to get worse? :(
