I wouldn't recommend any other kind of fish in a five gallon, community tanks need 10 gallons and up. You could try shrimp but they're usually snacks for Betta, depends really on your Betta.

Moss balls are awesome. I was a sceptic at first but now that I have one, eep! You could make one smashing tank for your betta, or divide it and have another betta on the other side! And two moss balls haha But no, no other fishes. 5g tanks are really small tanks when it comes to tropical fish.

My snails ignore it or kind of slide right over it. Even if they did nom some, it's usually just the dead stuff. To care for it, just rinse it off and squeeze it gently about once a week. They act as a sort of natural filter and can get a it clogged if sitting in a tank, especially an unfiltered one. Mine doesn't get much light and is still doing great so I think low to medium light is ok for them, even though they'd probably thrive with some more light.

Once a day, give them a little nudge. In their natural habitats, they are in lakes with a repetitive current that keep them circular. You have to roll them around every few days to mimic the current or they wil flatten.

Which would not be a good idea..! The betta will most likely chase the guppy or the guppy will harrass the betta.
