What to do with the 1 gallon tank

The blog post I linked to mentioned Malaysian Trumpet Snails, and I think these would do best as they aerate the substrate for you.

My blackworms seem to be thriving on a diet of mulm and any decaying Indian Almond Leaves I pull out of my other tanks. They will probably be difficult to remove, as they bury into the substrate. You could also you bloodworms if you can find somewhere that sells them live.

I think I have copepods or something similar in some of my wild betta tanks. There's lots of nearly microscopic white things skittering around in there. My betta fry seem to like eating them. I don't know how they came into existence, but I think they like the leaf litter and wood I put in.

Well, I don't have any fry, but anything a big grown up would like eating sounds great. :)

So, I was reading daphnia care sheets and feeding--what do you use to feed your little bugs?

Copepods grow in freshwater? The reason you haven't heard of them, muffin, is because they're primarily a saltwater thing. If I get my salwater tank, after it's been established for a while( 1+ years) I want a Mandarin Goby, which feeds on Copepods. Just a fun fact, nor very fun to people who aren't me ;)

Haha, well that would be a reason why! I generally stay away from saltwater fish, they are a little too expensive and fragile for my taste! They are pretty cool though. I sort of would want a purple reef lobster :)
