Snail eggs, help

I haven't been on this site for months mainly because my bettas and snail have been doing wonderful and there just isn't much to report...until now. My "Apple Snail" has laid a clutch of eggs on the aquarium wall about an inch and a half above the water line. There is only one snail, and has only been one snail in this tank. Is this possible? Are these eggs viable?

Below in the picture is the apple/mystery snail, (under the thermometer), the clutch of eggs (above the thermometer), and Francis Albert, the betta (behind the thermometer). 10 gal. tank.

Can my snail do this without a mate?

"The female snail can store active sperm for months in her genital tract enabling the female apple snail to reproduce even if she does not meet a male for the months thereafter. "

Just FYI:

I bought my snail late January, early February, so she's (I know now that she is a she) been storing sperm for over 9 months.

if you don't want them to hatch, just scrape them off.
Kinda gross.. but it makes it easy to keep the population down.

I definately don't want them, but imagine my surprise. And here my little snail waited all these months for just the right conditions (a gift) and whamo---I take them out with a swipe of a paper towel. Wish I knew someone who would take them.
