So here's the story.
It just recently started getting colder, and I've been having no trouble with my lack of air conditioning keeping my betta at 78-80degrees with no heaters. now out of nowhere the temperature dropped into the 30's and so did my tanks! I've been stressing out and not getting sleep for the last few days cause I couldn't find a heater locally, and they finally just came into day. Man the difference! My two fish are perked right up, and happy. Unfortunately ShyDog was already too far gone, due to a bloated stomach. (I tried treating him with ES but four days later it was still there).
Anyway, to all the new betta owners out there! invest the 10-15 bucks into a good heater! It'll save your fish, and you some sleep
Also, as far as McGyvering heaters go, resting them in cups on my 8 cell computer brick battery works wonders_
