Hello!

Hello, newbie here, obviously. Ha!
Anyhow, I had been doing some research about bettas for almost two weeks, so I went out and bought two female bettas.

Here is their tank (5 gallon) setup (yes, they do have a heater :P )

Here is Flo (sorry about the quality, my camera refuses to capture beauty)
I didn't get a chance to capture my other betta, she's too hyper for my non-steady hands. 8( )

Aside from that, I was wondering if it would be okay to put in a turbo snail considering they do well with saltwater?
Also, if any of you have some suggestions concerning my tank, please do share. 8)

Thanks for your time! btw, bettas are indeed beautiful!

Wait whatttt, not trying to be rude or anything but putting two female Bettas is if not exactly the same as putting two male Bettas together, they may act peaceful for now but sooner or later they'll snap and do some major damage! I really suggest you get them their individual tanks. . .

Also Betta fish are fresh water fish, dunno if the salt water was just a typo or something, turbo snails need salt water and Bettas need fresh water, so no your turbo snail will die if you add it into the tank.

Other than those two, welcome to the forums I guess. . .

Welcome to the forum, and cute tank =)

Two females is not a good idea, as one will harass and possibly kill the other at some point. Sororities are iffy, at best. A 5 gal is a bit too small for a sorority, so it would be best to make a divider so each has their own side and be safe.
DIY divider step by step

For sororities, This thread is something to go by. I love sororities, but for their safety it should be one correctly. Otherwise you need to separate them.

As for salt.. don't use any unless for healing purposes only, and in QT tanks.

Hm

Ah, okay. Just when I figured I was going right about this *sigh*
Well, at least I was prepared, I did also purchase a divider, I was just worried about them not having enough room.
Anyhow, thank you for your responses and suggestions! 8)

Oh, what about mystery snails? o.o
Sorry, that i have to ask, but would any of you know a recommended tank set up for snails only? Concerning their temp., plants, lighting, etc? I'm probably asking in the wrong section, please forgive me. 8(

Lol it's okay, at least you made a thread!

Mystery snails, I recommend Nerite to be honest I believe Mystery snails can breed and bam you'll have too many of them. While nerite snails can only reproduce in brackish water, also I do not recommend getting a snail not seeing how you're going to divide your 5 gallon.

Or, are your going to get another 5g tank? If so you can put one nerite snail in each tank. :D But if you're dividing then no, the bioload would be too big since snails poop a lot.

I didn't want to risk losing either one of my female bettas, so....

VOILA!!

I know I'll have to get a better filter and heater,
but this is just for the night.
I'll be getting a roof top, filter, and heater that is suited for a 10 gallon tank tomorrow.
Other than that, I hope everything is good now. 8)

Oh, as you can see, I have the 5 gallon set aside, I'm going to set it up for my snails only.
I'm excited! :D
