pH problem

I've started my aquarium 3 days ago. I've used Nutrafin Aquaplus (it's a water conditioner) and doing the Nutrafin Cycle treatment. My ammonia and NH3 and NH4 levels are goos but my pH is high at 7.8... what's the best way to get it down to a more neutral level???

As for the pH level I'm guessing your tank will have a Betta in it since this is a Betta forum. Don't worry about the pH level that much, you do not want to make the pH rise or drop, simply due to the fact that this will leave your fish in shock to the sudden change in pH level and they'll probably die.

7.8 is an okay pH level, Bettas can stand a wide range when it comes to pH so I wouldn't worry about it.

IF you do decide to alter the pH (which I personally wouldn't, as per Micho's advice :) ), then use a natural solution like driftwood or peat moss in the filter as opposed to chemicals. :) The natural methods are more stable.

Tannins such as IAL or dried oak leaves also can lower the pH. But just be very careful.. you will lower it, but it will be a fight to keep it where you want it, and constantly messing with it could do more harm then good.

What size tank are you using?
