I love Glowies! They are modified Dainos. So a big no-no if you wanna keep 'em with Bettas, they fin nip.

They need about 15 gallons for a school of 6. They are small, but very active. And I always say 15 for a shoal of 6 Neon Tetras.

I think tetras are fine in a 10 gallon, my danios move allot, but only in one spot. I'm pretty sure after I finish my 29, I'm moving them to a well planted 10 and making a sorority with the BNs and Neon Tetras.

Yeah, but they'd prefer the space a 15 gallon has to offer.

And c'mon, who keeps Neons on their own?

I've noticed that, people don't keep neons alone. My danios don't seem to use very much space, actually, they just stay at the top waiting for food. I don't think they're hungry, I feed them 3x a day. As long as they have plenty to look at, I think mine will be fine.

I know, they are always kept with other fish.

I wonder why.

Maybe because they're so small.

I think of it like flower arrangements, generally there is a 'centerpiece' flower--Like a bouquet of roses will have baby's breath and other small flowers. No one gets just those in a bouquet. Not that they aren't lovely.

Even our community tanks are centered more around the betta. I guess just some fish end up being the extras to add more variety. Not that they are loved any less, they just aren't something people generally design a tank around!

I guess, I mean the 29 was originally planned as the Neons as a main event, but now it's a sorority. Or if I get lucky, it will be the main event still.
