Can they live with Bettas? I'm feeling lazy and don't want to flip through the thread. :P

Nope. They are modified Dainos, and Dainos fin nip.

So unless you wan't a shredded Betta, no.

^^This. My LPS actually says Danios should be pegged as Semi-Aggressive. I agree. Mine have a 29g, and they are always defending the top portion of the tank from the other fish. Not only do they nip, but they are forceful at slamming into other fish to prove their point :(

My boyfriend seems to have the wierdest luck with fish. In his stupidly small tank (he says it's 8 gal, I think it's a 5), he has a betta with a bunch of zebra danios, no aggression. In his 23 gal he had (before a water crisis) an angelfish, a male fighter and male fancy guppies, no aggression. Wierdest combinations ever. Don't try this at home, kids.

I just hope the Danios won't hurt my neons before I move them.

I just put in a school of glofish in my 20g tank with a male crowntail. They have been there for several days and there was only a little aggression on the part of the betta the first day. He seems to like his plant and would charge the other fish when they got near. With the glofish in the tank, it reminds me of an underwater pinball machine. Those things never stop.

The are awful cute and fun to watch though and the grandkid loves them. Have yet to get a black light for them. Gonna try to get a table lamp over by the tank and put in a black lightbulb to see what the difference might be before I plunk down money on a tank fixture
