When you moved him to the new tank...how did you acclimate him, does he look bloated, what are you feeding the snail-often the Betta will overeat algae wafers if you added any to the tank for the snail...

What I would recommend now-make 50% water change for 2 days and dose the dechloranator for the full volume of the tank and see if this will perk him up. Hold food for 2 days.....

Then get on a regular schedule of twice weekly water changes in the 1.5gal unfiltered tank of 1-50% and 1-100%...to maintain water quality-

Thanks, for the snails I decided not to feed them algae waffers in the tank, because I heard about how betta like to eat them. I hand feed them bits of brocolli every few days. I acclimated him by putting him in his cup, and letting it chill out in the warmer water till it was the same temperature as the tank he had been in. and no he does not look bloated. Thankyou for your advice! I appreciate the time

It is important to acclimate the Betta to both the water temp and chemistry...especially with new tanks and with 100% water changes by adding small amounts of the fresh/dechloranated water to the holding container over 10-15 min or to tolerance....this is to prevent chemistry related problems-osmotic shock...usually this is not an issue- but its better safe than sorry with some Betta- since some can be more sensitive to the chemistry changes than others....how is he doing now......did the water change with a full volume dechlorinator dose help any.......sometimes it can be an adjustment issue-especially going from smaller to larger tanks that generally resolve with a little time...

Are the plants real or fake......if real, have you used any plant ferts or any other additives besides the dechlorinator......can you post a pic....

Sounds like a good plan with the snail feeding, also, letting some extra Betta food drop 1-2 times a week would be enjoyed by the snail as well....

He's still not doing so hot, his fins are clamped, water temperature is normal and the plants are fake (silk ) I think it might just be acclimitization, it's been a rough week for him
