Fin Rot?? my new betta...

if you look at the very tips of the tails you can see it...or...is it a female, and it that the coloration???

The black on the tip of the tail looks like normal coloration/pigment...hard to say what sex it is from the pic.....can you see the ovipositer....it will look like a little white dot between the paired ventral fins...however, some males can have one too....but if you could post a pic of the Betta in full flare...it can help us tell what sex it is...

s/he won't flare, and i puulled a stupid, i put him in a half gal with luke warm water, and forgot the dechlorinater stuff!!! he was in there for maybe and hour, and so i put him in a 1.5 gal kritter keeper, and put the dechlor. in it... he's kinda slow, and non entergetic and floats a bit tilted at the top... OMG its so pretty i dont want it to die!!!! will it be okay???(still not sure on the sex,but im referring to it as a he)

It looks like it is a girl, but it is hard to say. I don't know what the best treatment for chlorine poisoning is. Hopefully someone will be along shortly to help you.

IT is doing MUCH better, he is moving more, i half expected to walk in and see it dead and floating but nope :D

okay, it IS fin rot, you know how fins look with fin rot, that friggid cut up look, well thats how its fins look...

In that case, water heated to 82F and daily water changes. :) Hope it heals up quickly.

A little aquarium salt could be beneficial for his fin rot too, 1 teaspoon per gallon with daily water changes. You can use it for up to 10 days =) it kind of looks female to me O_o is there an egg spot??? Does it have a big beard when it flares??? can we see more pictures because it's really adorable????? XD

Fastest way to cure finrot, 1 tsp of AQ per gallon of water, change water 100% every day and keep tank warm (at least 80), also, ADD TANNIS!!!
Tannis can be gotten from naturally dried oak leaves that are crushed and added to treated water... it helps calm bettas and helps with immune system
