If the light is on in his tank in a dark room, he can see his reflection. I notice that when I turn off my lights at night before I turn off my tank lights :)

One of my new bettas will swim, them strike a pose all fins out, but not a flare. When my daughter put a mirror next to his tank, he flared several times, even after she took the mirror away! I believe it was because of his new tank, plus the "strange male" he saw!

My point? I believe the extra flaring is because of the new tank.

My Betta flares at EVERYTHING after I get him back into his tank after a water change. XD

Okay. Thanks guys! I think it was because his tank was lighted but the room was dark.

Thanks!
