Working at a Petstore...

I recently got an interview and was offered a job at Petsmart(granted I pass the drug test and I've never touched an illegal drug in my life). I know how many people feel about how petstores generally take care of bettas and other pets. Does anybody have any experience with this? I'm a cashier who is expected to work the floor throughout the day. Will I have any opportunity to affect the lives of this pets? They have birds, reptiles, fish and a couple mammals(Chinchillas, hamsters and rats).

the cashiers typically change the betta water at my petsmart, so you should have some dealing with the fish.

often, in stores like that, you'll do small things around the pet store when you're not busy, or if they need your help. when i worked at a grocery store, i not only rung people's food up, but i stocked the candies, sometimes they'd have me stocking the shelves with small things(shampoos, cans, ect), and i'd put things back. so, yeah. i think you'll affect the lives of pets, both at the store and in people's homes. you may have the chance to teach people about bettas, if you get stuck stocking the fish section. :3
