Color enhancing foods?

It seems like the majority of betta foods are labeled to be color enhancing. Has anyone really noticed a difference in their betta's colors depending on food? Are some brands better than others when it comes to color enhancing? I can't say that I've ever really noticed a difference in color. Out of my four bettas, none have really changed color wise from the time I bought them and they're all fed color enhancing food.

Definitly. I started feeding my betta some hikari and color enhancing food alternated and he really coloured up. He was some kinda dark orange when I bought him, and how he is REALLY REALLY bright.

You should give it a try, it wont kill your betta, promise :P

High quality food does more than anything (except good water quality, of course!). The first ingredients should be some sort of shrimp or fish, not wheat or soy. I also add a supplement called "Vita-Chem" that probably helps with color. However, keep in mind that some fish just won't change. I have one boy that is only just now changed after almost 2 years! I have another boy that has changed so much in 3 months he doesn't even look like the same fish. My new girl doesn't look like she will change much, but who knows?

Also, pictures really help let you know if they have changed. Since you live with them you might not notice the changes until you look back at an old picture.

One drop a day per fish. I actually use it to let them know where the food is going to be dropping in the tank.
