Picky young man

Young Apsu already has me wrapped around his little fin. I got him Wednesday and he hadn't eaten at all since I got him. I thought it was stress and didn't worry for a few days, but it's been almost a week now. Something had to give.

The fish guy had told me to get Wardley's Betta Bites or something like that. But Apsu would bite it and immediately spit it out. It seemed too big for him. So tonight I bought him NLS small fish formula. Apparently it's like crack to fish. Apsu ate 7 pieces very quickly. I think he approves!

I have 3 different foods for mine that I bought over him. He seems to like the NLS one the best. NLS also smells the worst. I also have Top Fin and Hikari Gold.

My fish like HIkari gold and NLS small fish formula. I used to give freeze dried bloodworms as a treat but I stopped because they didn't digest them well. Eventually I'm going to get around to finding frozen bloodworms since I'm not in a potion to have live worms. At least I know 3 things my fish will eat without putting up much of a fight. X3

Glad to hear he is eating =) Just be careful not to over feed. Pellets, even mini ones, do expend in their stomachs, so it's best to do smaller meals spread between 2+ meals a day. =)

how do NLS smell? i find nutrafin flakes smell more like a strong tea, wardley pellets seem to smell like horse. its been many years since ive personally been near a horse (one time at summer camp) but thats the closest smell i can think of.

Nah...it's not as bad as rotten salmon based on the way my garbage smelled the week I cooked fish. I want to forget the time I forgot I had crab shells in the trash and forgot to take it out. That mistake allowed my garbage to come to life. XD

But it does have a very fishy smell. So, at least I know NLS isn't lying when it says it's food is mainly fish meal. :)
