Pics! The poor thing in the cup, a close-up of the rot, a full-body shot of the fishie in the hospital tank, and a pic of the whole setup.
Still not sure if boy... or girl.... :P

Definitely a boy Doubletail possibly- with a lot of tail-biting. Poor guy! Love him in his new tank! I'm sure he'll perk up soon in his new home :)

Thanks! He's already perked up. Think I might name him Sushi....
Right now I'm planning to do 100% every day with aquarium salt to stop the rot. Anything else I should be doing?

Guh. I know. The state of his tail was what drew me to him in the first place. I hope it's all rot and not tail biting. That drove me crazy with Jalen lol. Luckily he's stopped.... FOR NOW.
I gave the new guy a betta pellet and he about choked. I'm gonna have to cut my bloodworms in half or something when I feed them to him.

To be honest, it looks like a little of both. The big chunks make me think he bit them. could have merely been from shipping stress though!

Hopefully. Maybe some more space will distract him? *crosses fingers*

Omg. He was eating himself raw. And he's pink, and small. His name is Sushi Bacon.

keep his water clean. you don't have to add aquarium salt every day, i'd do it just the first few days. he's been tail biting, and lack of clean water caused it to get infected(the rot). the space and attention will stop him, and if not, add many plants, and redecorate his tank at every water change. that's how i got Dante to stop. :3

he's a cutie, that's for sure. x3
