Tutorial make your own sponge filter!

Hi guys just sharing my own home made sponge filter video. This filter is as good the one you buy at the petstore it traps the waste from the fish tanks pretty well. Also they are good for fry tanks as long as you get one of those thing to control the flow of the air. Sponge are $1 at the dollar store, $1 dollar for a packet of plastic hook, +1 dollar for shoe lace packet or you can use other strings as long as they are safe in the fish tanks, and a couple dollars for the airline tube at walmart or your lps. Nice idea. But wouldn't it be better to use aquarium sponge than to use a regular sponge? I thought there was a difference between the two materials.

Yes but i think they are more expensive.

My fish hasn't have any issues with these filters the first one in the video with my betta fish has been there for 4 months no issues with it.

Sorry for the delay. I completely forgot I posted a comment here. ^_^;

The price does jump up a bit when you switch from a cleaning sponge to an aquarium sponge. I was just wondering if there were any chemical or dyes that can leech into the water or something like that. I'm glad your fish are doing well. :D
