Feeding from your finger

Has anyone else trained their betta to eat from their fingertip? I put a small pellet on the tip of my wet finger and my boy jumps from the water to get it.

All mine jump for food.. even when I don't want them to. If I don't drop it fast enough they will jump lol.

If I feed them too late, Xander will bite my finger as hard as he can to show me he is mad. First time he did it, it scared me lol. I jumped straight up and screamed, making my daughter and boyfriend laugh at me >.< I was just trying to push the food down into the water to make sure he saw it and he charged me.. I then learned to make sure they are fed on time, and if it will be late, I will skip that feeding all together lol (rarely happens luckily for them). Rather not deal with an angry fish!

Perhaps you are just part of their food chain?

My best friend does this with her bettas, and I used to with the betta my work used to have.
My betta at home doesn't do it yet, but he is starting to recognise me (I just got him a week ago!) so... sooooooon....

I can't figure out if he loves me ot hates me. IS the flaring just a fun game, or would he like to eat me alive?

My Ares used to to jump for food like a champ. :3 Phaistos tries. But he's really bad at it. Lol. He's cute, though. He misses it every time so I just put it in the water. >.<

I feel like I taught him a bad habit. Now he jumps at every chance he get.
