Here is a sticky to go by to help guide you.

Sororities can be a big headache since you don't know if they will work out. It is easier if you have siblings from a breeder.
Make sure there are a lot of mid-tall plants, making the 10+ gals very dense so the line of sights are broken up, and they can establish territory.
Make sure you are able to house each one individually in case it doesn't work out, or there is a sickness.
You will need at minimum 4-5 girls (which is also the max for a 10 gal).
Be aware that at any time they can become unstable, so keep an eye on them to make sure one isn't being picked on excessively more then others.

Otherwise, good luck!

They work best if you can get girls who are used to living with each other, whether at the shop or sisters from a breeder. If you can't, it doesn't mean it won't work, it just helps. :)
If possible, have back-up tanks in case it goes wrong. :) (WARNING: hypocrite talking. *blush*).

She's very right though, I just started my own recently. Had a lot of problems with it to start, two of my girls died from dropsy :< and one turned out to be a male >< (he got re homed to a friend who wanted a betta). It's why I'm going with siblings to try and populate the rest of the tank this time. Make no mistake though they are a lot of fun.
