help with my tank

ok i know that this is a betta site bu i could use some help with my tank. i dont have any fish in there now just to let you know. anyways i put aquarium sand in there today about 3 hours ago and the sand still has not really settled in there i even had the filter turned off so there wont be a current. any tips guys?

thats normal. i'd turn the filter back on and let it be. it should clear up in a day or two.

For the future... I usually put my sand in the empty tank and add water with a small hose so it doesn't disturb the sand :) I was able to add my fish 20mins after filling my tank (29g).

I have done it that way, but I prefer the immediate water change method. Reason is that dust is something that you eventually want rid of so the immediate change will just help that along.
