New Spawn?

My beautiful HM male has been blowing bubble nests like crazy. I finally got my 10 gallon up and running, and put him in. I know he needs to explore his new home, but now he isn't blowing any bubbles! How long should I wait for him to settle in? He's only been in there for 3 days by the way.

Thank you, that was going to be my next step, if he didn't start on his own.

I'm going to breed them in the 10 gallon. His home is a 5.5. I figure that is why is hasn't made a nest yet, because he is still getting used to his new "home".

Ahhhh yea. Annoying when they won't make a nest when you hope they will lmao. Maybe show him the girlie that you wanna breed him with then give him something to build the nest under, like your log

+1 You can definitely introduce the female in the tank inside a vase so the male can't get to her. What you don't want to do (preferrably) is realease the female with the male until he has his nest.

I hope mine builds a nest when he has to LOL He's got a pretty one going atm but I wont spawn him for another 2 weeks.

You don't have to wait for him to settle nor do you need to wait for a bubble nest. You can immediately flare him or show him a female. If he flirts, he will make a nest and spawn.

I don't usually "introduce", just get the breeding tub/tank ready then put in both at the same time. If they flirt, I let them be. If not I replace the female with a different one.

Thanks for all the help. I've given him his log, but he only looks at it. Let him see the girl will be next.
