First Post - My Bettas

Hello. This is my first post. Here are pics of my two bettas. The male is Slash and the female is Splash. Hope you enjoy. Would like to know what colors you guys would call these.

Beautiful looking fish. Welcome to TFK. I don't know what colour types fish come in. Myself, I would describe your male from the picture as a dusky blue.

The boy is definitely a copper, and quite a grumpy looking boy at that!

LOL definitely a grumpy-looking copper delta tail, from the looks of it. He's beautiful! Love the little girlie too :) What colour is her body without the stress lines?

Don't know that I've seen a betta that doesn't look grumpy

Umm...she always looks like that. She shouldn't be stressed. She is in a 5 gallon fully planted tank with perfect water parameters - no ammonia, no nitrites, 5ppm nitrates, 75 degrees and eating Hikari Gold.

Gorgeous fish! You don't house her with the male though, do you? She looks eggy and stressed, so I'm just wondering. :)

Okay sorry, I just assumed they were stress lines because mine get those if I move their tanks around, and they go back to normal colouration when they calm down

No. I've been keeping fish - including bettas for about 25 years. I wouldn't do that. Honestly don't mean that in an arrogant way. Just giving some background.

She is obviously full of eggs. That would be the only thing. I didn't even have the male when I took that photo. I got him Sunday. I took the photo of her over a week ago. Going by her actions and attitude, I'd say she is fine. Even with the male in a tank next to hers, she goes over and gets nose to nose with him and "makes eyes at him". He flares a little. She flares a little back. Then they go on about their business.
