Swimming around at the top of tank.

Hello! I just changed half of the water in my betta's tank today. He is acting fine: eating normally/swimming around a lot, but I noticed he is spending a lot more time near the surface and going to the top to breath more often.
He blows bubbles a lot but it doesn't seem like he is making a bubble nest because it's random. The temperature of the water is around 80. I added more conditioner when I replaced half the water.
I don't know if he just decided to like the top of his tank better now or if he needs more air.
Any ideas? Do you think he is okay?

Edit: He is happily swimming back and forth near the bottom of the tank now (like normal). I think he is fine.
