My friend rescued a betta and now I have him since I had the expertise, space and medications on hand to heal the little red veiltail.... And okay now he is healed and she doesn't want him back so now I am stuck with the no-one-likes-him-because-he-is-plotting-against-us-all betta fish.

But, even though I dislike him and have to toss his food to him rather than going near him because he is a mean little butt.... I should get him something to do. Just not sure what... He attacks everything. He feels a need to murder objects, people, fish, snails - you name it.

So what do you get for a psychopathic cherry red VT??!!

get him some ping pong ball for him to take out his frustration and maybe a moss ball for him to cuddle and feel loved... lol.... no betta can be that mean to be hated.... maybe u can see if some one in this site will take him.... put some pics up... best of luck with the new boy...

lol well i don't flat out hate him :p but he is terribly mean. He attacks anything that enters his domain >< and that means anything I may get him some ping pong balls... I don't know, but would getting him to flare help a bit too??

get him some Java moss. :V Heavy LOVES hers, and i often find her cuddled up in it like it's a blanket when i head to bed.

also, go to like... a walmart or something and get one of these:

it comes with different plants, but he may enjoy nipping at the lilly pad. some of mine even bubble nest around them!

Caroline never did. she pushed them around at first, but that's because they were new, and full of air bubbles.... all my bettas preferred Java moss

he's not mean. :V just spunky! Cup used to be that way. he'd flare at EVERYTHING. even sounds! and my brother's late CT, George, would flare at the sound of my voice! just mine! he'd flare at my voice, at my face, he even knew what my finger looked like! i could show him my face, he'd flare. my brother would look at him, he'd stop flaring and wiggle. xD

Haha I'm certain he is mean. He never ever has flared. Dare he hears you come in the room he is right there, wiggling to jump out and snap at you xDD he even makes a loud "SNAP!!" sound when he tries to bite O_O
I mean Spartan went through his spunky stage - but I tapped him on the mouth a few times and he stopped being so vicious. Sasuke? Nope to him it's a game x.x LOL
