Heartstrings and Apple Bloom

I went to get a 20 gallon filter and saw the tiniest betta I have ever seen.
Naturally I had to bring her home. I wonder how old she is? She is about the size of a quarter and I have to look real hard to spot her in a 1 gallon tank

Kinda blury pic but you get the idea. Her scales are metallic blue

She is named after this character

And Apple Bloom. She came from Walmart. She is on the tiny side too, after some QT in the 1 gallon, she moved into the 20 gallon with the other girls. Her fins turned a red/blue. She is still a little stress striped though :( She looks like a mini version of another girl, cyndaquil. Its kinda cute because apple bloom follows cyndaquil around the tank.

I didn't know you got two girls! Both are some beautiful. I really love the resemblance between Heartstrings and the character. How perfect.

They're both really pretty! I love Heartstring's coloring.
I haven't been into bettas for very long, only about a month, but in the past week or so I've started seeing some really tiny little guys at petsmart and petco. Takes a lot of willpower (and the fact that my finances are pretty tight!) not to bring them all home...

xD i'm a dork, so when i saw the pony, my brain used her fan name of Lyra. :d

but, both girls are so cute! Heartstring really DOES resemble her pony counterpart!

I have heard her called Lyra too but I think for this girl, Heartstrings is more approperiate i wish I had more room, they had a white tiny VT there too. I would of named her opalessance after rarity's cat, since I already have a Rarity.

My petco usually does not have alot of females, if they have any at all. However the ones I am seeing lately are really tiny. A few weeks ago I got another small girl. She was transparent but she grew up and turned out yellow. Her name is caroline.

I got her one of them ugly neon colored caves today. I thought she might like a place to hide.
