My little lamb is growing up!

A few months ago one of my sheep had a baby and I promised to post pics as he grows up. :)

So, here's a few from a couple days ago. He is the fattest little sheep I've ever seen!!! Unfortunately he hasn't kept all his inky black coloring, so I think he's going to end up looking like his momma and be a light brown color.

And my pride and joy, Our Ram. He is so cute!!!

We have to ram so that he will ehm.... produce more sheeps. LOL And he is just so nice to look at. :) He would NOT be nice to eat because he is not castrated (obviously) so the meat would be nasty because of that and because he's a few years old.

Unfortunately we have to sell a few of them soon because we don't want to have all of them over winter. We are going to be keeping the ram and a few females. I have a friend who might take the baby for us. I really hope they want him because it would be nice to know where he is going. :)

LOL old and testosterone filled meat.... YUCK.

I love sheep! I would keep them but they're not very cost effective around here. No one wants (or needs) wool and the meat market is very low anyhow. They'd just be nice little pets. Too bad I don't have money for "just pets"!

It's amazing how quickly sheep give birth. I was with my boyfriend & his brother and they were going through some tools they keep in a trailer at a friend's for construction. I wandered along the lane and there were TONS of sheep/goats. I walked down for about 5 minutes, walked back up, and magically there are 2 baby lambs!! Fresh placenta on the ground, umbellical cords still hanging, dripping wet! I was amazed! Unfortunately one was MUCH smaller than the other (expected) so I hope both made it alright.
