New 40 gal :)

So I found a 40 gal tank for $20! with sponge filters. Here is the setup
has 4 albino cories, and 4 platies. I'm planning on a sorority I'm gonna keep updating periodically as I get more plants and such for the tank any suggestions are welcome!!
Btw my tv isnt floating. Its hung up on the wall
I have two lovely girls, ( not in the tank of course!) a ct and a vt.
Keeping them in qt tanks untill I find more girls
HAPPY THANKSGIVING GUYS!

Ever though of black water? Its great for the bettas and looks awesome too. black water also helps plants grow nicely. I use oak leave and IAL. Tank looks great. I need to upgrade my apartment before I upgrade to having more and bigger tanks.

So I did some cleaning up :D and took pics of my setup and my girls
don't mind my hamper lol
My yellow vt female I'm calling Daisy Duke

and the blue/red ct female I'm calling Jewel.

They're in the petco cups because alas, I only managed to get two. And of course I can't release them in the tank until I have at least 5. So tomorrow I'm gonna do some shopping and get a new heater, 3 more girls, and more plants/decor to hide in. Don't worry! I changed their water and they will be floating tomorrow

That yellow female is adorable, but looks like she has some serious ammonia burns from the looks of her gills.

I got her last night, she was pretty clamped and I cleaned her water twice already I know the cup is small but I'm using one heater so I'm floating their cups in a 2 gal heated. Anything you might suggest for that?

I really don't know. I don't know much about ammonia burns except what they look like. Maybe ask in the disease section? I'm not 100% sure they ARE ammonia burns. They could just be more visible because of her light coloring.
