It appears that Sully hurt himself some time last night. Every morning he flares at his reflection for several minutes before he finally figures out that it's his reflection
This morning, one of his gill covers appears to be stuck down. When he flares, only one side opens up, the other stays flat. He's also taking frequent breaths at the surface, and acting agitated.
Anything I can do for him?

Symptoms and Treatment
How has your betta fish's appearance changed? his gill cover appears to be stuck =(
How has your betta fish's behavior changed? he's acting agitated, and he's taking frequent breaths from the surface.
When did you start noticing the symptoms? this morning. I did a 100% water change last night and he was fine.
Have you started treating your fish? If so, how? nothing yet, not sure if there's anything I can do.
Does your fish have any history of being ill? his growth is stunted from malnutrition, he was only about 4 months old when I got him and he had been unable to eat the big pellets at the pet store. I'm not sure how long he went without food, but he was pretty skinny/colorless. He's healthy now, but much smaller than an adult fish should be.
How old is your fish (approximately)? About 8 months, approximately.
Thank you so much for any help you can provide!!
