i have three betta fish in one tank, practically everyone sais not to keep them together, but i've actually seen non stressed bettas males and females together in the same tank, so is it okay to keep them together? they never ever bother each other, and they all have a bunch of space.
They will soon turn on each other, tearing each other to shreds. It will not work. If you are a new betta owner, you may not know the signs of stress. Please separate them, it will just turn out really ugly.
I agree, might be great today and tomorrow morning you could wake up for 3 dead fish. Separate them asap. This is not ok unless you are an experienced breeder with a huge tank and years of knowing Betta personality.
If young bettas don't fight, they usually can be kept together for the time being. But the day will come when they start to flare - sort of play flare at first but then gets worse as the days go by. So be ready to separate them when you start seeing them flare at each other.
IMO it would be better to separate them from now. That way you can develop their fins by "exercising" them without any worries.
i saw a pet store where a couple males had escaped their "betta condo", one was almost completely without fins and the other was tattered as well. You may have them where they haven't made breeding age, but once they do it will be war.
