What do you think of this tank?

As anyone ever bought this? I thought it looked pretty cool. I know the lighting isn't very good but maybe I can change the bulb. How about the undergravel filter? What is your opinion?

Looks like it would be a cute tank, however, I have to wonder if your betta would like the current created by the filtration system. You can always choose the opt out of using the filter, but to me it looks like the current might be an issue with your betta, especially if you have a male. It would be hard to keep a bubble nest going.

I like it - though it looks like it might be a bit tall for a betta's liking. but it doesn't look much taller than my 10G or 20G tanks so it may not be an issue for your betta.

I'm not a fan of how round tanks look, personally.

I had this, and please if you can get another tank, do it! I bought this for Ben, I started smelling an awful plastic chemical smell in the water. Ben started getting sick for no reason so I took the tank back and got a 1.5g Tetra. He perked back up no problem!

If you do decide to get it, you can twist the top of the air pump and it will slow the current down. Just loosen it up and watch for the flow you like. Honestly, the filter does nothing but create a nice effect. It just sucks all the poop and whatever under the gravel, you still gotta take it apart and clean it out. Keeps the water moving though.

Taking the filter and tube out will make the light useless, as the light goes from the bottom of the tube up. If you cover that with rocks, no light :(

The worst part was I just lost my Venom to something unknown, and then Carnage 3 days later. I picked up everything new, including this tank and Ben so I could try again. And then the tank started to poison Ben. The smell made me sick as well as him. Another local member had two males die in this same tank.

Wow, that's terrible, but also good to know. :/ I was thinking of buying this as a present for my friend for Christmas. Guess I'll stick to a tried and true 2.5...
