I currently use a short metal/wire shelving unit from target to hold a 10 gallon tank setup housing some skirt tetras and neon tetras. It holds very well and I have had it for 4 years.

Does anyone else use "found" stands for their tanks? I will be moving into another room in the house and will have room for a couple of tanks.

Anyone use plastic shelving units for smaller tanks? I have a 2 gallon eclipse tank on a tall plastic shelving unit, and it seems it could hold 2 or three per shelf.

i just built a stand with an old bedframe... as far as shelves or found items or even building something you just have to be confident that it's solid enough to hold the weight. If you're not sure it's probably not a good idea to try it.
