Lighting a tank

I have an older Marineland Explorer 2 Gallon tank that I got at a garage sale that I set up. Everything is running great.

The only problem is there is no light. It is an older model that has a clear flat piece on the hood in front of the filter housing.

What can I get to light it? I am thinking of just setting one of those aluminum led flashlights to sit on top of it.

You can use a desk lamp to light the tank..That is what I use on my critter keepers.

Desk lamp would work, clip on light, stuff like that. You can get something at Petco, but it'll be more expensive than the craft store selling a small desk lamp...

A desk lamp would work just fine. Or the LED light like you said. I've also thought of using a book light once, however I'm not sure how it would light.

Book lights aren't very good for lighting a tank.

I figured that much. Just an odd thought I had.
