What's wrong with Apollo?

Housing
What size is your tank? 2.65 gallons
What temperature is your tank? Checking that now...
Does your tank have a filter? No
Does your tank have an air stone or other type of aeration? Nope
Is your tank heated? Nope, but it usually has a stable temperature.
What tank mates does your betta fish live with? None.

Food
What type of food do you feed your betta fish? Omega one betta buffet pellets
How often do you feed your betta fish? two in the morning, two at night, fasting twice a week.

Maintenance
How often do you perform a water change? Twice a week, sometimes once if I am really busy :(
What percentage of the water do you change when you perform a water change? 100%
What type of additives do you add to the water when you perform a water change? Water conditioner

Water Parameters:
Have you tested your water? If so, what are the following parameters? Nope...

Ammonia:
Nitrite:
Nitrate:
pH:
Hardness:
Alkalinity:

Symptoms and Treatment
How has your betta fish's appearance changed? His fins are ragged, pics below. His fin is short compared to a couple weeks ago.
How has your betta fish's behavior changed? No.
When did you start noticing the symptoms? A couple weeks ago
Have you started treating your fish? If so, how? Frequent water changes
Does your fish have any history of being ill? When I first bought him, he had a slime coat issue.
How old is your fish (approximately)? Maybe...3?

See how his fin is darker at the edges? It's not black, just dark. No white.

What is wrong with Apollo?

Hi Caiti, it looks like Apollo may be finbiting with a potential for fin rot because of the darker edges. Have you seen the fin coming off in big chunks? If not, then I'd say he's probably finbiting. Very clean water with API Stress Coat and a high protein diet will help heal his fins up but for the finbiting . . . that is another problem. If it is indeed biting, the best thing is to find out what his trigger is. Sometimes it's loneliness, sometimes it's the fins are too big. It's hard to tell.
